HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Resilience and adaptation

Growth often follows challenge.

Life inevitably brings loss, uncertainty and change. Resilience doesn't mean avoiding difficulty — it means learning that we can move through it. People become resilient when they repeatedly experience: 'I struggled… and I wasn't alone.'

Support, safety and hope allow the nervous system to adapt. Growth is rarely linear. Neither is resilience.

Not avoiding difficulty

Moving through it, not around it.

'I wasn't alone'
